Wild Yam
Question: I want to plant wild yam at my backyard, Where can I find the plants? Where can I buy the wild yam plant? Can I use a little parts of
wild yam to get it just like potatoes?
Answer: Yah, you can. Yam and potatoes are the same type of plant so planting them the same works.
Question: What are the side effects of taking wild yam? What are the side effects of taking wild yam?
Answer: No side effect really, it boosts your sexual drive if taken regularly...it really works so does Damiana
Question: Anyone have success with wild yam cream as a progesterone supplement post ovulation? I've done the fertility drug route, and have been able to conceive but have lost them both. I'm not willing to subject myself to more drugs and inseminations, but am not one hundred percent ready to quit either.
My progesterone level post-ovulation is low, so I was thinking about supplementing with wild yam. Anyone tried this?
Good and or bad stories are welcome!
Thanks!
Answer: I have heard that this is a hoax and that you have to take human progesterone in order for your body to be able to use it. Wish I could remember where I saw this. I'm not sure if natural progesterone cream works- there are so many opposing opinions. Some say that progesterone in pill form (which is usually what doctor would prescribe) gets filtered out by the liver, causing you to have to take 10 x what you need. I would check with your doctor before using progesterone because once you start, you can't stop until the first trimester is over. You should research the findings of Dr John Lee, he was the person who spearheaded the research into natural progesterone supplementation.
Question: Prometrium claims to be from wild yam but is there a synthetic component to it? I want to know the truth about Prometrium. Is it natural from wild yam or has it been synthetically altered so the drug company makes a killing in profit from it??
Answer: It appears to actually be made from wild yam (with a lot of peanut oil). However, there are plenty of varieties of wild yam at every health food store. And if you choose one of those, you wouldn't be supporting the pharmaceutical industries attempt to take over the supplement market.
Question: where can i buy wild yam? i hear that wild yam, saw palmetto (not reccomended), fenugreek and fennel all contain phytoestrogen which promotes breast growth
if this is true, i would like to try it, where would i buy wild yam? or fenugreek? i already have fennel.
Answer: supermarkets
Question: where could i find the herbs fenugreek or wild yam? i want to get fenugreek, wild yam or both. but i don't know where i could buy them if i even need to buy them. help please!
Answer: You can get anything at Http://www.midmanmerchandising.com if they don't have it they will get it for you!
Question: How much do you know about Wild Yam Cream? I have heard that this can make your breasts larger but what if you are a transgender?
i have not quite started on hormones yet but everyone who sees me would swear i was a girl with just really small non visible masquito bites for boobs.
will it help me grow faster breasts if i use wild yam cream before or during hormone therapy?
Answer: No, it won't. You might as well rub lard on your chest.
Contrary to the claims of some manufacturers, there is NO herbal extract, cream, or pill that has any real effect on breast development (if there were, believe me, we'd ALL be using it).
The only substance that has any significant, permanent effect on breast development is oestrogen; and that is only legally available with a doctor's prescription.
Question: I am afraid to use wild yam as I have read conflicting things? I have read that wild yam can either improve fertility or be used as contraception, depending on the time of your cycle you take it. I bought some but am thinking about taking it back as I don't want to risk it acting as a contraceptive.
Answer: There is a lot of controversy regarding wild yam. I chose to not take it as a pill for that reason. I did, however, take Vitex, Zinc and a pre-natal vitamin, which has a lot of important vitamins in it. I also drank raspberry tea. Additionally, I used progesterone cream (which is actually derived from wild yam) during the last half of my cycle (right after ovulation and up to a day before my period).
I always had crazy wild cycles - very long cycles, usually at least 2-3 months between periods. When I wanted to try for a baby (actually, before), I began researching all about conception and natural methods. The first thing I found out was that I needed to eat better and lose some weight, which I did. Secondly I figured out that my cycles were irregular because my hormones were imbalanced - too much estrogen and too little progesterone, which is called the "pregnancy hormone" because it helps sustain the life of the baby from conception to birth. That is why I began using progesterone cream during the last half of my cycles - to boost my levels.
I started taking Vitex and using progesterone, and I started charting different ovulation symptoms (cervical mucus, cervical position and BBT) and was pregnant within a few months after 4 or 5 years of having very irregular cycles, wherein it's doubtful I was even ovulating.
If you are trying to conceive, I would definitely recommend progesterone cream. Like I said before, you use it right after ovulation. This is very important because many early miscarriages are caused by low progesterone, so you want to use it until you find out you aren't pregnant.
You can find progesterone cream at health food stores. Runs about $25-30 bucks for one container. Not cheap, but worth it. A really good book on that is What Your Doctor Won't Tell You About Pre-Menopause by Dr. Lee.
If you do more research on the internet, be prepared for conflicting opinions. All I can tell you is progesterone, along with a good diet and Vitex, helped my cycles become normal and helped me to get pregnant. I am currently 26 weeks pregnant and looking forward to May 4th! :)
Best of luck with everything.
Question: how do you take wild yam tablets to increase chance of conceiving twins? i have read a lot of info on internet saying that wild yam can be used to increase chance of conceiving twins, but nothing tells you how to use it. anyway know?
Answer: I believe you take it for a month (it can cause the body not to release the egg, ie hold it for the next month) then have sex during ovulation the next month. If it works correctly, you hold the first month's egg, release both the second month, and if you're lucky, both get fertilized.
The one dude who muttered about not taking herbs during pregnancy w/o a doctor's approval is right- you aren't trying to get preg the 1st month, so you take it then. Don't take it the second. After that, wait until you know it failed before taking it again- for a month.
Oops that dude was on a different question. Still the advice applies.
Question: how fast does wild yam work for breast growth? i started using it a few days ago in addition to fenugreek and saw palmetto but i found that since adding the yam, my boobs seem a bit fuller. could this be possible?
Answer: I'm going to guess that you got lucky on having more fullness...
Breast tissue is comprised of fat. In order for a person to have larger breasts, they have to have the weight to go with it. There is no herb or another other edible item that is going to change the biology of breast development.
However, sometimes a false-positive affect is given by the various lotions, salves, and edible products that are out there. The reason this occurs is because the product you are using either causes blood to flow to the breast (so that it swells) or causes the user to hold water. Any affects that are gained are temporary at best.
No matter what size you are naturally, be happy with who you are. I know that everyone says that having a bigger bust makes them feel better, but any guy that is interested in you because you have breasts is shallow to say the least. If that is all he is interested in, then he is going to be heading the other way when you get old and they start to sag!
Question: can i take wild yam and the contraceptive pill? i have read that wild yam is a natural inflammatory, i try not to take to many painkillers so i thought id give it ago. however i want to make sure it wont interfere with microgynon pill that i take for contraceptive.
please give me some advice.
thanks!!
Answer: hmmm idk but i did see a tv special about a girl who was taking wild yam and the contraceptive pill cause she was trying to increase her bust size and she was having problems, ended up getting implants. the moral is no one knows how stuff like that interacts except specialists so you can either take a chance and take them both without thinking twice (i.e. like i wouldnt think twice about taking a multivitamin with the contraceptive pill) or you could ask a specialist. there are websites that you can go to to ask specialists questions if u dont feel like making an appt, etc. although i dunno how reliable they are lol. here is one
Question: Has anyone experienced the benefits of Wild Yam Cream? - It is meant to boost progesterone levels.
Answer: I have used it and it does work....but you have to be consistent and use it everyday. I took hormones for awhile, but had problems with them, so quit. Then the hot flashes and night sweats kicked in and I was miserable. So I did some research on line, found out about natural hormone creams, started using them and found that they did work. It took time, but they worked. Try www.johnleemd.com He is a well known doctor that has done a ton of research on natural hormone creams and he has a list on his site with the creams that he has found that do contain what they say they contain. That can be a problem, you spend lots of money on a cream that has little or no natural hormones on it. So make sure you are spending your hard earned money on a product that is good. Good luck.
Question: Has anyone ever tired wild yam cream to get bigger breasts? I heard that it causes them to get bigger. Does anyone know if this is true?
Since having a baby they have gotten a lot smaller . I don't want to have surgery but want to know if there is anything I can do to make them larger.
Answer: If you exercise your pectorals muscle which lie underneath your breast tissue...you might get some added lift...
Question: what is name of wild yam called in hindi ? what is name of wild yam called in hindi ?
Answer: shakharkand
Question: What would happen if i took vitex and wild yam tablets when trying to conceive quickly.? I don't have trouble ovulating but want to fall pregnant quickly for personal reasons, would it help us conceive? effect us from conceiving or result in multiples?
Answer: I don't think these herbs would cause you to conceive multiples.
I would recommend using a wild yam cream, however, instead of tablets. Most of a wild yam supplement is destroyed in your stomach, by all the acid, and so you get greater benefit from a cream. I bought mine from a company called Syringa, you can find it online, and there are lots of other good brands as well. With the wild yam cream, if you're cycling normally, you use it every day except during your period. When you get pregnant, you can continue to use it.
With the vitex, I think you're supposed to take it only at certain times during your cycle, too. I took it while trying to conceive my first child, but that's been a few years ago now and I don't remember for sure. It seems like you were supposed to take it from the onset of menstruation until ovulation happens, but you should look into that to be sure.
There is no way to really know if using these herbs will help you conceive more quickly, but in my opinion, it's a good idea to do what you can to be healthy and have healthy cycles. Give yourself all the help you can. And make sure you're drinking plenty of pure water, eating healthy, balanced meals and snacks and not cutting calories, and you can start taking a prenatal vitamin, too.
Good luck.
Question: Can I take wild yam and soy isoflavins capsules for breast growth at the same time? I mean it shouldn't hurt right?
Answer: There are other ways than breast implants. One is to let Nature take its course - they slowly get bigger as you reach maturity. Another is to put on weight - they put on weight at the same time as you do. And finally, get pregnant - that's a guaranteed way.
Question: Does wild yam cream work for heavy periods and spotting between periods?
Answer: Wild Yam cream is marketed as containing chemicals that turn into Progesterone but this is misleading. In laboratories and compounding pharmacies they use special techniques and processes which turn the chemical compound found in wild yams and soybeans (diosgenin) into bio-identical progesterone. Our bodies lack the enzymes to convert diosgenin into progesterone. So beware.
It has been known for decades that hypothyroidism causes menorrhagia (heavy periods). This can even be the case if your blood tests are normal for thyroid function.
Question: How effective is Wild Yam as a Contraceptive?
Dr. Hulda Clark claim Wild Yam is a contraceptive, on Pg112 of her book 'Cure for all Disease' she says:
"There is an excellent pamphlet available at health food
stores, called Wild Yam for Birth Control Without Fear10 that
informs that 3 capsules taken two times a day provides reliable
(perfect) contraception provided you give it a two month head
start."
Answer: For which Gender?
The Mexican Wild Yam is good alternative to the contraceptive pill.
Nonetheless other varieties and sub species are promoting fertility in both man and woman to such extend they can have triplets or twins even after they reach 40years of age.(only the females of-course).
------------------------------------
When mixed with the necessary herbs, wild yam acts like compose manure in women’s reproductive system. It boosts the fertility level in women. It is faster to conceive if a woman continues to eat wild yam. A woman that experiences miscarriage is also advised to eat wild yam.
It is a remedy for miscarriages. If pregnant woman, especially, the one that has been having problem of miscarriages, eats wild yam mixed with other herbs it will stop automatically. It helps to support the uterus. It is an excellent preventive medicine for miscarriages and useful for cramps in the region of the uterus during the later stage of the pregnancy.
Wild yam helps to relax the muscular fibres and soothe the nerves. It boosts the sperm, in terms of its quantity and quality. A wild yam enhances sexual performance in men because it contains steroids that store peroxidation of blood lipids (the principal cause of thickening or hardening of arteries or veins). The wonder yam also lowers the level of fat in the blood and very rich in potassium, which makes it very appropriate for heart diseases. Wild yam can also be used to manage or cure stroke.
It is all very confusing and I do not recommend the self administration of Wild Yam. Once you play with this hormonal stuff - anything can and does happened.
One have to be really careful.
People should use it only, after consultation with the professional of their choice.
Preferably a skilled Naturopath.
Question: Which one is better to better your fertility, Vitex or Wild Yam? 1) Is this your personal experience or close friend or family member?
2) Did it work for you?
3) Did you have any side effects?
4) Would you recommend to somebody?
5) Anything else you would like to add?
Thank you!
Answer: I have used the Vitex and it's been wonderful it has definitely helped to regulate my cycles. I haven't conceived yet, but I haven't been consistent with taking them either, so that may be why. I haven't heard anything about the Wild Yam though. Yes I would recommend it.
Just make sure you time your ovulation and do everything it takes to conceive.
Good luck
Question: Do any women know anything about or have experience with using wild yam cream for PMS? I have severe mood swings for about 2 weeks out of my monthly cycle every month. It intereferes with my life and I was curious if any women know about the benefits of using wild yam cream for PMS symptoms. I know many women use it for menopausal symptoms, but the estrogen is good for PMS I'm told as well. The lady at the health food store said to use it every day and it will help with mood swings. I am wondering if there are any increases in breast cancer risk etc with using estrogen? Any information is appreciated! Thank you!
Answer: Wild Yam Cream does nothing.
You want natural Progesterone, which is what yam cream is claiming to be. Yes, progesterone comes from the yam, but the body cannot use it unles it is converted to USP Progesterone before being put into a cream.
I have been researching progesterone for about 2 years.
Estrogen is what is CAUSING your PMS symptoms. It doesn't help, as you state in your question. Mood swings are a symptom of excess estrogen. (There are about 30 more, if you'd be interested in seeing where you stand.)
Progesterone WILL help with your PMS. It's the body's natural "anti-estrogen". Balance out the unopposed estrogen with natural progesterone, and you will be feeling much better. :)
