Vitamin B17
Question: Could scientists be lying about Vitamin B17 not being the cure for cancer? Not many people realize that Vitamin B17 is in a variety of citrus fruits that are in grocery stores now. A group of people called the Hunzas eat apricot seeds and never get cancer. They also live up to be 100 years old or older. Why is it that America has the most cancer cases? I advise people to research this and look at both sides of the argument on this form of nutritional cancer treatment.
Answer: Nope. Any scientist would become an instant billionaire if he discovered the cure for cancer, so it's not even remotely plausible that that could be kept secret. Lots of people live long lives and don't get cancer without eating Hunza seeds. If B17 isn't sold as a cancer cure, it's because they either haven't found out whether it cures cancer, or they have already tried it and it doesn't work.
Question: Does anyone know that the Vitamin B17 found in the seeds of stone fruits and other fruits helps stop cancer? I have a DVD at home which is a Proffessor/Scientist and he states that the Vitamin B17 found in the seeds of stone fruits and seeds of other fruits is rich in an agent (B17) which helps to reduce the risk of cancer and can prolong age (it won't stop you dying, but it actually can help in your life expectency and life quality). There is a tribe overseas that constantly eats these seeds and the average life expectancy of this tribe is 95 years of age. The quality of life of the members of this tribe is also greatened from the fact they take this B17 daily. It is interesting to know if your someone who is a healthy eater and concerned about your health in the future.
If anyone is interested in the actual DVD itself, it is called the MAKING OF THE WORLD, BY DOCTOR KENT HOVEN.
Answer: Anyone with a DVD burner can whip out a DVD making any kind of claim they desire.
The American Cancer Society says laetrile (B17) is a quack treatment with no proven benefit.
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/ETO/content/ETO_5_3x_Laetrile.asp
If laetrile worked then Coretta Scott King, who had all the money and means in the world to pay for alternative cancer treatments, would still be alive after her trip to Mexico for laetrile therapy.

Question: How much Vitamin B17 should my dad take? Hello. My is going to take Vitamin B17 tablets to hopefully somewhat help with his cancer. They are 500mg tablets. How many a day should he be taking? A reference to where you got the info would be great if possible.
thanks!
Answer: I've seen a couple sources that say anywhere from 3 to 9 grams a day. It can get expensive though. Good luck!
Question: What is the most common natural source for the vitamin B17? I've already been told apricot seeds. I'm sure that they probably have a high value of b17, but is there something a bit more common? Is there any site that tells you the amount of b17 in different seeds or foods?
Answer: Before you start dosing yourself with the stuff you should read this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amygdalin
Question: Can anyone give a testimony that Vitamin B17 cured them of breast cancer? I've read that breast cancer patients get treated in Mexico with Vitamin B17; the only known killer of cancer because it breaks down the wall of estrogen surrounding the individual cancer cells. I need a personal testimony from someone who has been cured or someone who knows someone who has been cured. This is not for research as much as it is to help someone I know with cancer. Thanks in advance.
Answer: Please don't let your friend get ripped off by this scam.
Question: Is there any truth to nitrilosides or vitamin B17 being the cure to caner? A World Without Cancer - The Story Of Vitamin B17

Foods Containing B17 (Nitrilosides)
http://home.bluegrass.net/~jclark/b17_foods.htm
Answer: The diet of primitive man and most fruit-eating animals was very rich in nitrilosides. They regularly ate the seeds (and kernels) of all fruits, since these seeds are rich in protein, polyunsaturated fats, and other nutrients. Seeds also contain as much as 2 per cent or more nitriloside. There are scores of other major foods naturally, or normally, very rich in nitriloside.
Vitamin B-17 (nitriloside, amygdaline) is a designation proposed to include a large group of water-soluble, essentially non-toxic, sugary, compounds found in over 800 plants, many of which are edible. These factors are collectively known as Beta-cyanophoric glycosides. They comprise molecules made of sugar, hydrogen cyanide, a benzene ring or an acetone. Though the intact molecule is for all practical purposes completely non-toxic, it may be hydrolyzed by Beta-glycosidase to a sugar, free hydrogen cyanide, benzaldehyde or acetone.
Apricot kernels are known to prevent and cure cancer, even though the medical establishment has worked night and day and even lied to suppress it. Vitamin B17 is found in most all fruit seeds such as the apple, peach, cherry, orange, nectarine and apricot. It is found in some beans and many grasses such as wheat grass. The hard wooden pit in the middle of the peach is not supposed to be thrown away. In fact, the wooden shell is strong armor protecting one of the most important foods known to man, the seed. It is one of the main courses of food in cultures such as the Navajo Indians, the Hunzas the Abkhasians and many more. Within these tribes there has never been a reported case of cancer. (And there are doctors and scientists from the U.S. living within these tribes right now studying this phenomena) We don't need to make the seed a main course but we do need the equivalent of about seven apricots seeds per day to nearly guarantee a cancer free life. Other foods that contain vitamin B-17 are: bitter almonds, millet, wheat grass, lima beans and more. (The bitter almond tree was banned from the U.S. in 1995.) The kernel or seed contains the highest amounts of vitamin B17
I would use this if I could get a hold of it.. its illegal where I live.
Question: I know vitamin B17 cures cancer but did the FDA really band it ? Who gave them the power to to decide what we take to get better?
It is found in the kernels of peaches and apricots.
Answer: You have indeed been misinformed.
First, there is no such vitamin as B17; it was invented by the producers of Laetrile, a commercial preparation of apricot seeds, to give their product credibility and respectability when they decided to re-market it as a cancer cure.
Secondly, laetrile/apricot seeds is not a cancer cure; it is one of the few 'alternative' cancer treatments that has been properly tested - several times - and it has been found to have no effect on cancer whatsoever.
It is illegal in the US, and in many other places, to claim without proof that something can cure cancer; thus it is illegal to peddle Laetrile/B17.
This link is a report of a clinical trial of amygdalin (Laetrile) in the treatment of human cancer:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7033783
As well as being ineffective against cancer, it is also dangerous as it contains cyanide.

But even I have my breaking point. Michelle g, you are an idiot . Stop playing with people's lives just because you've half-read a few reports of studies and decided you're a cancer expert.
Cannabis does not cure cancer. You don't know a single person personally whose cancer has been cured with cannabis, do you?
A very small study (9 people) a few years ago into the use of chemical cannabinoids to help treat one type of brain tumour, glioblastoma multiforme had some promising results.
And there's been a study that indicates that cannabinoids (the active ingredients in marijuana) can help prevent prostate cancer.
There's no suggestion in any of this research that smoking marijuana can either treat or prevent cancer; the research has been done using man-made chemicals that mimic the compounds found in cannabis, rather than unpurified marijuana.
And there's some evidence that marijuana is a risk factor for testicular cancer.
Eating no meat or dairy will prevent cancer? Crap. I'm a vegan. I have eaten no meat for decades and no dairy for 15 years. I got cancer.
Please, get a new hobby before someone is stupid or desperate enough to believe you
Question: Why has the FDA not approved any drugs like MMS,vitamin B17 or DCA for cancer? Is it because no profits can be made or it can harm people?
Answer: MMS, B17 and DCA are all unpatentable. The FDA drug approval process is patent-based. Without a full patent and full ownership no pharmaceutical company will invest in drug development as they do not own the rights to the drug. The costs of drug testing are very high, with figures running from several hundred million to over a billion dollars. The FDA expects drug companies to have patent protection to allow them the ability to recover the high drug research and testing costs. Even orphan drugs need patent protection and the FDA often goes one step further by granting marketing exclusivity to compensate for the smaller markets those drugs serve.
There is no system in place for the development of unpatentable drugs, materials currently in the public domain. These potential therapies do not qualify as generic drugs either, as generics were patented drugs for which the research data has been submitted and the patents have expired. No data is in place for drugs that are not patentable.
All three of the materials are being used by large numbers of people currently, around the world, with great effect and safety, and at very low cost.
Drugs in the pharmaceutical pipeline are supported by large budgets and eager champions pushing hard to get an FDA approval that becomes a financial homerun for the company. No such arrangement exists for unpatentables. There are no champions, no funding, no lobbyists.
There are many other great unpatentable therapies available. However, without a system in place to allow research on public domain drug candidates, these therapies have no future. We cannot expect or demand private money be used to finance the research. And using public money to finance drugs that compete with those from private companies is a difficult road to take as well.
The money involved in medicine is enormous, the political pressures extreme. The drug companies, medical associations and insurance companies all profit greatly from the current system and have no incentive to change it. Just think of what might happen if a drug to treat cancer that costs $20 a month was brought up before an FDA review panel for approval. Can you imagine the behind-the-scenes battle that would occur? The money will win. And we will lose.
Are these unpatentable items safe? Almost all of the medical establishment would say no, as there are no large-scale studies. But keep in mind the devastating health effects of conventional cancer treatment, the bankruptcies and the often ultimate failures of FDA-approved therapies and the fact that thousands upon thousands of people are using these unpatentable drugs now.
Is it fair and just that we are denied access to these materials because there is no process in place for their approval? Should we be denied access, even allowed to die, without the chance to use them?
The medical establishment will say "they may make it worse". The alternative is a 100 percent chance of death, which I think is much worse. We face a choice: the risk of additional harm from using one of these unapproved drugs or dying without trying.
This should be a decision the individual makes. The right to live is the most fundamental human right. If a person has a terminal illness, I personally think they have the right to try to save their life. The government should not block access, especially when they have no system in place for the approval of these drugs. A failure on the part of the government to deal with the issue is not sufficient reason to deny our right to try and save our own lives.
We need to solve this problem. If a person is terminally ill, that person should be allowed, by law, to try whatever they want to save their life.
Question: Indian supplier of Vitamin B17 Amygdalin Laetrile , Intenzyme Forte and Apricot Kernel? Can anybody please do inform me by providing information about the Indian supplier of Vitamin B17 Amygdalin Laetrile , Intenzyme Forte and Apricot Kernel.
Answer: I assume this has to do with a "cancer cure"? This stuffs been around for ages and has been thoroughly disproven as helpful to cancer patients. Steve McQueen supposedly went to Mexico for treatment of his cancer with apricot pits. But, sorry, No, I don't have any info about an Indian supplier for the stuff.
Question: What is Vitamin B17 and is it safe to take? If so, what are the benefits?
Answer: Its called Amygdalin and is supposed to cure cancer. But human trials indicated that it does not work and subjects had symptoms of cyanide poisoning.
Question: Why is Vitamin B17 banned in Canada?
I ask that you read "A World without Cancer' and why cannot anybody stop these gov. agency stopping us getting the treatment we need like vitamin B17?
The reply to my Question as to why you cannot get B17 in Canada, was that there is no such thing as B17 well how come you can get this nearly anywhere in the world except the U.S and Canada ?
Answer: There is no such vitamin as B17; you won't find it in any biology book.
It was invented to give credibility and respectability to Laetrile, a commercial name for apricot kernels, which have been peddled as a cancer cure.
Not only is there not a scrap of evidence that laetrile is effective against cancer, it is also dangerous as it contains cyanide.
Sadly wherever there is cancer there is an unscrupulous charlatan eager to make money from the desperation of people at their most vulnerable. Laetrile, apricot pits, B17 - whatever you want to call it, it is a scam.
I don't know Canadian law but I imagine the reasons it is banned are that it is illegal to sell an unproven cancer treatment claiming that it is a cure, and that the stuff contains cyanide.
Edit** BJ, I said there is no such vitamin as B17, and there isn't. There is such a thing as an apricot kernel, and unscrupulous people who make money selling these cyanide containing things to desperate cancer patients will assure them they contain this non-existent vitamin. They are dangerous and ineffective against cancer
Question: Do alfalfa pills contain Vitamin B17 (Nitrilosides) ? Alfalfa itself does contain vitamin b17, but does any one know if the pills of it contain vitamin b17 or is it stripped out of it?
Answer: There is not an economical way to "strip" B17 (laetril) out of alfalfa leaves. Tablets, however, are quite processed & difficult to digest. For the highest potency, I might suggest either taking capsules, which are just powdered leaves, drinking the tea or making sprouts. See the link for other food sources of nitrilosides.
Question: What is B17 vitamin good for? Also, is there any other name for it?
Answer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laetrile
Question: What are the best natural sources of Vitamin B17?
Answer: Appricot seeds. read the article.... very cool stuff.

Question: I have heard that vitamin B17 will destroy cancer cells. Does anybody have first-hand experience of B17? I learned about B17 from www.worldwithoutcancer.org.uk
Answer: Vitamin B17, also known as Laetrile, is not a scientifically recognised vitamin.
There is no scientific evidence that it does anything to fight cancer, only anecdotal evidence.
It contains cyanide and can be deadly.
Interestingly, there has only been anecdotal evidence on this forum also. People have read about it (usually on a site selling it) or know someone, who knows someone who swears by it. But no-one on this forum has been able to state a cancer that they have been diagnosed with that was cured purely by using this substance (so far).
I would be very cautious about using this substance and would only ever consider using it myself if all other avenues of conventional medecine had failed.

Question: Does Vitamin B17 completelly prevent cancer and stop metastasizing?
Answer: No, you are misinformed. There is no medical evidence that a vitamin called b17 exists. There is a substance that a man invented that he decided to call b17. It is poison . . more commonly known as cyanide. No documented evidence exists that it has ever prevented cancer, but there is evidence that it gives people cyanide poisoning.
Question: Why is Vitamin B17 BANNED from U.S. store shelves ? I had heard that Vitamin B17 was beneficial in preventing and curing some forms of cancer, but I couldn't find it on any store shelves. Even the fresh raw seeds like Apricot and bitter Almonds, that contain usable Vitamin B17, can not be found in health stores.
I discovered Vitamin B17 has been banned from U.S. store shelves since G. Edward Griffin wrote the book " A World Without Cancer: The Story of Vitamin B17", but WHY ?
"A World Without Cancer: The Story of Vitamin B17" by G.Edward Griffin
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4312930190281243507
Answer: Yeah money is the reason. They make millions out of treating the illness so it's not in their financial interests to cure it. It is possible to get apricot kernels somewhere, keep looking. They're safe as long as you don't take too many as they do contain trace amounts of cyanide (not as bad for you as the slashing, burning and poisoning they use to treat Cancer). Essiac is another cure for Cancer, it contains four herbs that together give a powerful detox. You can't take it if you're pregnant.
To treat Cancer you need to create a healing environment in the body, slashing, burning and poisoning doesn't do that, herbs and positive thinking do.
Question: why does the FDA ban vitamin B17? govt conspiracy to make money frm cancer?
Answer: "Vitamin B17" has been around for a long time. It used to be known as Laetrile. Then when Laetrile got a bad press, they changed the name to B17. There have been numerous studies showing that it was not effective and furthermore, dangerous (cyanide poisoning). There is no gov't conspiracy except in the minds of the paranoid and delusional. It was banned because of unscrupulous Mexican Cancer clinics and quacks who preyed on the desperate. Besides, how could the gov't possibly make money from cancer? Medicare PAYS for cancer treatment. Often, it ends up paying a lot! Medicare is also in danger of going bankrupt! How does that make money for the gov't? You're a credulous fool for believing this nonsense! Read this link:
