Answer: I have only found it in ethnic grocers, like a latin one I go to. It is an ingredient in Caribbean and South American cooking.

Answer: You're right, it is a delicious fruit. The way my mother used to get the pips out was to put the pulp in a sieve and with a plastic or wooden spoon press the fruit pulp so that the pips get loose and then push the fruit goo through the sieve. It's a lot of work, but - as you know - worth it! I wish we could share the fruit. I haven't had it in ages, since I don't live in the tropics anymore.

Answer: Latin or Puerto Rican store, I have seen it in Florida in the grocery store there, also they may sell soursop juice or puree, even tinned fruit, when I was a chef and worked in Montego Bay Jamaica, I used it in the hotel where I worked, we got it from local farmers, here in Toronto Canada, I can buy it fresh and all the other ways with no problem, we have a very large Caribbean community here and even the grocery store sell the juice, I have made ice cream with it and the puree.

Answer: Interesting. I first thought you were talking about the soursop. The worm is probably safe to eat, most vegetarian worms are. However, you will probably want to cook it in some way so there is no risk. That could be difficult though... If you have already eaten it, I wouldn't worry too much. If you really want to know, you might have to identify which type of larva it is. It's probably not something pleasant, especially if it's not very big. Most worms in fruit are fly larvae. Some fly larvae can live on more than one type of food, so you don't want it getting into the wrong part of your body. Grinding it with your teeth may not actually be good enough as some types of worms are simple enough organisms that they can survive a certain amount of damage and grow back significant portions of their bodies.
