Serratiopeptidase
Question: what is the role of serratiopeptidase in raised c reactive protein?
Answer: Serratiopeptidase would be used as an anti-inflammatory, to treat systemic inflammation. Elevated c-peptide is thought to be a marker of increased inflammation in the body. It is also a marker for an increased risk of heart disease. So, serratiopeptidase in theory could lower inflammation in the body, decreasing both c-peptide levels and the risk for heart disease.
At least, this is my assumption.
Question: can anybody give me the plasma half life of serratiopeptidase? serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme which is being used in case of inflammation.
Answer: Not completely sure about this, since serratiopeptidase is but a composition only in the holoenzyme itself and as part of a particular anti-inflammatory drug action...but it seems that the plasma half life for the drug upon acting with this enzyme is ~1.8 hours; for a more specific measurement, you can try looking at the kinetics of the enzyme itself, since it is specific to a particular substrate.
Question: is paracetamol, serratiopeptidase, chlorpheniramine, phenylpropanolamin good in bee sting swelling of 2cm?
Answer: I am not to sure but I do know that pickle juice from a jar fo pickles works great.
Question: is serratiopeptidase safe in pregnancy? i am 24 weeks pregnant and down with a very bad sore throat for the past three days consulted a doc who has given me serratiopeptidase 10 mg to have three times in a day for three days. Is it safe in my pregnancy to have this medicine
Answer: Hmmm. Well, best I can find for you is a website with undisclosed references saying that it's safe, another that says it's not, and one that says no studies have been done to test it (google). Pubmed doesn't have anything for that med with pregnancy, pregnant, fetus, foetus, fetal.

Its method of action makes me a little leery. How bad is this sore throat? Tried gargling with salt water? How about hot lemon and honey? If it's tolerable at all, and they obviously didn't think there's a bacterial infection, so it'll pass more than likely, soon.
Question: Is serratiopeptidase affective? a friend of mine had a fall 2 days back.he got hurt on the vermillon border of upper lip involving more than 2/3rds.swelling is present on the facial aspect of the lip.it is soft in consistency but cannot be compressed.it is increasing in size nd slightly tender.i prescribed him amoxacillin, serratiopeptidase nd nimusulide.topically fusiwal.bt swelling is not reducing.is this line of treatment correct?i am fearing that upper lip being the dangerous area of face is there any possibility of any complication?well there was profuse bleeding after fall.
Answer: I would think so.
Question: Why do I need to take Rabeprazole? I had a sprain in the MCL(right knee). I had nearly recovered when I had a fall again. Doctor advised me to wear braces for 2 weeks and prescribed Diclofenac Sodium tablets and Serratiopeptidase tablets. Perhaps these are pain killers? Are they? I was also prescribed Rabeloc 20 ( Rabeprazole ). I looked it up and found it is used to reduce production of stomach acids. Why would I be prescribed these?
Answer: Diclofenac is used to relieve pain and inflammation in a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, gout, sprains, fractures, back pain and following minor surgery.
Serratiopeptidase is a powerful anti-inflammatory.
The absorption of certain drugs may be affected by changes in stomach acidity, I'd guess the Rabeprazole is to tailor your stomach acid to complement the other two drugs and protect you from the indigestion they may cause (especially the Diclofenac).
Question: ENT Help and advise needed with small bump at the back of throat? Hi All
Yesterday discovered a lump / boil a little smaller than the size of a pencil top eraser. I went to 2 GPs and was told its ok and normal. Its at the back of the throat and looks a little inflamed. looks like a lump to me but the GP says eveyones throat is uneven. Was told nothing to worry about. It aches very slightly . Was given hexylresorinci to suck like a lozenger and Serratiopeptidase for inflammation.
Should I be worried about it? Should I go to ENT doctor? they are specialist and cost quite a bit.
The specialist fees are high and i can barely afford. Wouldnt want to go unnecessary. I do not earn a lot and the visit to the 2 GPs set me back quite a bit. They told me its normal. Not that i do not trust them, its just hard when you see a reddish bump there.
It could be there all the while but i just noticed it. I do not know.

Anyone with experience like that or advise? What should I do now? relax?
Answer: it all depends on the course of this lump within the coming few days
if it is not reducing in size and instead enlarging u better see an ENT

Question: Blunt Injury on top of the foot 4 weeks ago, still hurting? Hi...
I hurt my foot - top part. It was a thick flat iron bar on a foot path i didnt notice and 'bam' stumbled with my foot hit badly. It had swollen right away, the top half of my foot turned black.
i was able to walk though. saw a doc 2 days later. got an xray done, he said no bones broken, but a blunt injury was there.
So he prescribed rest and icepack. :( I was scheduled to travel the very next day and have been walking quite some since.
The blackness had reduced, but the foot's still not light / normal. The shoes hurt, and its tender to touch.. i tried today to check and it feels like a small bump / lump in there.. :(
I did goof up on the medicines prescribed (1BD * 5 days)- a combination of serratiopeptidase, and paracetamol. I took only 1 tab for two days....
Any suggestions.. :(
Answer: Get another xray, sometimes breaks won't show up for awhile.
Question: Can I take Amoxilin and Serratiopeptidase without food? I just took out my wisdom teeth and was prescribed Amoxilin and Serratiopeptidas. I am to take them 8 hourly, after food, but :
1) I do not eat at 8 hour intervals.
2) I may be asleep for more than 8 hours.
Therefore, do i take the medication at 8 hour intervals, regardless of whether a meal accompanies it, or do I take my medication each time I eat (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Answer: The first answerer is mad, these medicines are to be taken only after a proper meal, because amoxi is a strong antibiotic. Take it a 7am, 3pm, 11pm after meals.
Question: Can I start my birth control if I'm on antibiotics? I've been off birth control for a few months now, and I've decided to get back on it this month. However, as you're supposed to start it the day your period starts, my period happened to come a week early (I'm very irregular when I'm not on BC) and it just so happens that I started a five day regime of antibiotics today as well for a severe case of acute pharyngitis. Should I start the birth control regardless, or should I wait until next month when I won't be on any medications? I'm just wondering if it's safe to start the birth control, not if it will work as well or not. Basically, the effectiveness is not really as important to me as the side effects of mixing the two types of medications, as I use it mainly just to control my periods. You're answers are appreciated.
In case anyone happens to be familiar with what medications these are, here is the list of what I'm on for my present condition:
First tablet (Augmentin 1000 DUO)-
Amoxycillin 875 mg
Potassium Clavulanate 125 mg
Second Tablet (Signo Flam)-
Paracetemol 500 mg
Serratiopeptidase 15 mg
Aceclofenac 100 mg
Third tablet (Allegra)-
Fexofenadine Hydrochloride 120mg
I'm not expecting many to know exactly what those names mean (as I barely know myself, aside from the research I did earlier) but I just added the extra info incase a medical professional happened to surfing the site. :)
Thanks!
Answer: antibiotics make BC not work
Question: Blunt Injury on top of the foot more than 3 weeks ago, still hurting? Hi...
I hurt my foot - top part - little farther up the big toe. It was a thick flat iron bar on a foot path i didnt notice and 'bam' stumbled with my foot hit badly. It had swollen right away, almost the entire top half of my foot turned black.
i was able to walk though. saw a doc 2 days later. got an xray done, he said no bones broken, but a blunt injury was there.
So he prescribed rest and icepack. :( I was scheduled to travel the very next day and have been walking quite some since.

Any suggestions..
Am in a foreign country.. dont really feel like seeing a doc again..in an unknown place :(
Answer: it doesnot matter where u are but the most important thing is about ur problem which u r facing
Question: Can i actually die if i consume too much medicine? as currently I am eating lots of medicine for my URTI, infection, sore throat and runny nose.
and here is the list of medicine i'm consuming and i hope you guys will tell me whether consume too much of it per day will be fatal or not because i am kind of afraid of it, thank you.
so, here's the list
bromHEXine 8mg per tab, i consume 3 of it per day.
serratiopeptidase 5mg per tab, consume 3/per day.
voren tablet 50mg per tab, consume 3/per day.
chlorpheniramine 4mg per tab, consume 3/per day
cephalexin capsule (sporidex 250), 250 mg per tab, consume 6/per day
amoxicillin (moxilen 250), 250mg per tab, consume 6/per day
dextromethorphan 15mg/5ml, consume 30ml per day.
Answer: Just take what the doctor told you to take and you'll be fine. That is, as long as you told the doctor all of the medications you're on.
I also would suggest not having alcohol with your medications unless you know it's ok.
