Pride Of China
Question: "Made in China" products??? The world is talking about "Made in China" products the last few months....from food to toys to clothes recently!! Now, is there ANY ONE product that is not tainted or harmful to human beings???
I am a Chinese and very embarrassed and humiliated to know that MY COUNTRY is infamous for all these harmful products. China pride itself for churning out millions of products for the world market at a low cost but now losing it's reputations in the process due to some unscruplous businessmen.
The Government is partly to be blamed for this problem too. Tell me, how are the foreigners reacting to this? Avoiding anything "Made in China"? Even those that are not banned??
Answer: Yes, the Chinese Government is to be blamed for not being strict with the safety regulations. I am avoiding anything that is "Made in China" the best I can, especially now with the latest report in New Zealand about children clothing being tainted. Can you imagine that Formaldehyde, a chemical used to give a permanent press effect to clothes contained 500 times higher than permitted by WHO?? China is killing children world-wide!!
As for Ian's answer....you are really funny and shall I say, very frank and direct indeed. Ha ha ha.
Question: How God confounded China? "8" is supposed to be the prosperity sign of Chinese. Olympics is supposed to start on
8-8-08 (prosperity, prosperity, prosperity) but the LORD God of the Christians confounded them and their Confucious confusion.
Chinese border guards shoots to kill .. . . thus God smear dung upon their faces by extinguishing their olympic torch.
On 12th May 2008 - He sent a huge earthquake to bring down the pride of China. HalleluYah!
Is it not providential, from 12-05-2008AD to 08-08-2008AD; that there are
19days in May
30days in June
31days in July
8days in August
a total of 88 days, to which the finger of God wrote an earthquake to confound the false Chinese Confucious confusion 8-8-08 prosperity . . . ..
all totals to 88 days prior to their pagan superstition - IS IT NOT THE FINGER OF A PERFECT GOD UPON SUCH A NATION????
.
Biblical numerology is consistent with Biblical Christianity.
Mr Hex Vision, if you do not believe in the God of the Bible and His perfect wrath and justice - why did you use 'FU' as your avatar?
Essentially, Chinese word are full of Biblical meaning.
The word “blessed” comprises of four characters, an iconographic record of the original blessedness of man preserved in the Chinese character. One mouth (ie one man), in a garden (of Eden) with the Divine (Shen). Adam, the father and the representative head of the human race, was this man. God created Adam in His own image and appointed him to be the keeper of the Garden of Eden. He had fellowship with God, thus glorifying and enjoying with the Creator. This was true blessedness and true happiness.Alas! That blessedness was lost when Adam chose to disobey the command of God to abstain from the fruit of the tree of
knowledge of good and evil. Adam sinned against God.
Following his rebellion, Adam was expelled from the Garden of Eden, and the sweet communion with His Creator was lost. In his rebellion, the whole human race lost that true blessedness. All of us, the children of Adam, are all now born in sin.God is holy and does not tolerate sin. He is just and must punish sin. The condemnation sin is physical and spiritual. Following our death, we will suffer the fires of hell eternally. The only way to escape this condemnation is to find a replacement to bear this penalty. However, all sinners are immediately disqualified – for all have sinned. But, there is yet, ONE hope.God knows our utter inability to meet His requirements. In His divine mercy and love, He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to be our substitute. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, to perfectly fulfilled every conditions required by God. He willingly laid down His life and die for sinners.
He rose again on the third day.Jesus Christ gives this blessed hope to all that trust in Him. Anyone who sincerely turns away from the life of sin, and to trust IN Jesus Christ for salvation, will receive the forgiveness of God. The blessedness that was lost in Adam will be regain in Christ.
Blessed is that man …….
….. unto whom God imputeth righteousness (Rom. 4:6)
..… whose transgression is forgiven (Psalms 32:1)
….. that maketh the LORD his trust (Psalms 40:4)
This is TRUE blessedness.
So, will you turn away from your sins,
and put your trust in Jesus?
Even the Chinese character ,"yi" (righteous) has a Lamb (yang) on top of the word I ('woh')
You cannnot escpe the eternal wrath of God. All our ancestors knew it.
Even the word 'disaster'('chai') has water and fire. God had judged once by the great Flood at the time of Noah.
SOON HE WILL JUDGE BY FIRE, TO BURN UP THE WHOLE EARTH FOR SINS OF MEN

Question: China or India? As you all may know, China and India appear to have the greatest potential amongst all the other nations of achieving superpower within the 21st century. Which country would you prefer and why? I would prefer India because it is a democratic nation, it is our important ally in Asia, and it does have a large english-speaking population.
China is not favorable because they are a communist. It is definitely not our ally. Their foreign policies are self-centered and they are not trustworthy.
I've asked this question before but I got too many dumb responses like, "China - because India will turn into Iraq," or "China...Azian pride!" or "India is dangerous. China is safe." PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER BASED ON PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS.
Use facts! I need intelligent answers.
I am not forcing you to agree with my views.
Just give me an intelligent answer. It seems like the people who answer 'China' are not giving enough information as to why they're supporting that country.
And just like any other American, I would prefer America myself. But this is only between India and China.
India is a democracy, not just in name.
Indians, just like us Americans, have the right to vote, speak, and do whatever they want.
Good answer, fire fighter.
Fishi, sorry, but your answer was the dumbest ever. You do realize that 40 years from now China is going to have a major recession because right now there population is peaking, they have a skewed population because of 1 child policy, right? Oh, you didn't know that.
Please, don't answer if you don't have intellingent answers.
Also, there isn't too much different in poverty between India and China.
India's poverty is available for the whole world to see because they are a democracy. They won't stop you from seeing their poverty. China's, however, is a different story. It's a communist.
To people who have provided facts, regardless of who they've supported, thank you. They were interesting.
Answer: We depend on China for a lot of things other than consumer goods.
Question: China’s decision not to modernize and industrialize in the late 1800s resulted in all of the following except A. China gave up spheres of influence to foreign powers.
B. China became an imperial power in East Asia.
C. China lost the Sino-Japanese War.
D. China’s population lacked a strong sense of national pride.
Answer: B.
Because China did not become an imperial power in East Asia.
Question: Western Girls in China? I'm chinese and I'm gonna be moving to Qingdao for a couple years while I do some shit. I was just wondering :D, are there any pretty "western" girls out there?, or Beijing for that matter?. I've lived in china for about a year at the Shaolin temple and let me tell you...you might as well be gay.
But yea, in my mind when i think of "western" girls + china, i think sparsity. Ooooooor are there a good amount?
I don't cull out the asian girls in favor of the white chicks (who i secretly venerate, jk)
I really do very rarely meet a chinese girl with anything remotely in common with me though, plus a lot of the pretty ones (if not all) i met in china were hardcore pride bitches wrapped in ego spewing out so profusely that I wanted to slap them
But yea...how bout 'em white chicks :]
That's funny, I never see people complain about asian girls on here asking to hook up with "white dudes" specifically but when I do it I'm shallow eh?.
I hear about Dalian a lot, too bad I'm not gonna be living there :( lol
Answer: Dalian has some very pretty caucasian girls, or women. I have some good male friends in Dalian but because I live in Canada I would not be interested in a relationship. Some Chinese men are very nice and respectful, and handsome too. I think most are afraid to ask out a caucasian woman. Go for it !! My friend married a Chinese man and they are living in Dalian now.
As for the first poster, listening to what my friends say most of the chinese girls are the ones who out out for every foreigner they meet hoping to get a piece of their life style and a ticket to a western country.
Most of the chinese women will do anything a foreign man wants them to, thinking it means they will marry them and take them back home with them and these are business women, students, not the whores you see everywhere in China
What a hero you are Will bragging about getting women drunk and then taking advantage of them, doesnt that come under the heading "rape"? No wonder no one, not even Chinese women will go out with you and they will go out with anyone
I should have posted this originally MOST of the Chinese women, NOT all of them !!! I know some very decent Chinese women, you wont find them trolling for foreign men.
Question: What should we do if China wants to be be biggest world power? I hope that they get enough things like referigrators, cars, nice families and homes before our subs have to kill them all over something stupid (like an attack on our friend Tiawan) because this will mean we are all dead or at least targeted when we shoot back . Their military build up is a mess we chose to ignore for the moment. Thank God we can replace satelites quickly with aircraft launched NIRT (need it right now) units. Our smart bombs and gps units wouldn't work otherwise. This is so intergrated into our defence, if they mess with that, we'd have to hit them. What should we do? Hand over the world to the communists or ruin the world and fight back? I think ruin the world will happen out of pride, athough it may not be the best thing for the human race. But we can't allow them to take over the world, can we? (They remember Nanking) Sure I still buy my tools at Harbor freight, but one wonders what they do with the bucks since they are state controlled. Buy Bombs from US!
Answer: The fact of the matter is that as we go on, in to the future, food and water are going to become scarce.
China is polluting their country at an astonishing rate. Wars in the future will be fought over food and fresh water.
The second part of that war is economic power. We need to press China on their trade restrictions and their artifically holding down their currency.
Question: China, Hong Kong and the Olympics I grew up watching HK based TVB dramas, and I felt a certain 'kinship' with HK people. But in light of the recent events happening around China, I wonder what is the public perception of the Hong Kong people towards China, since Hong Kong was once ruled by the British, its culture, educations, democracy etc etc was assimilated from the British. Do they share in the pride and nationalism of China in light of the recent crackdown, human rights abuses, religious persecution etc etc or they view their fellow brethren back in the mainland China as 'goons, thugs, barbarians' though from the same chinese roots but obviously from 2 different civilizations.
Answer: Hongkong residents have a mixed feeling about nationalism. They are still Chinese in blood but Western in culture. Loyal to China but different in attitude.
Question: Is the Almighty US Dollar still the king of currency in China? Which currency, if possible, will overtake the Almighty US Dollar? We are talking long term economic sense, not short term pride because the EURO is going to fall flat soon!
Businessmen travel don't they? Most of the hotels in China are business hotels, not family hotels! Wake up old man!
Another old man yelping! It belongs in the travel section because most people travel here for business! How many people do you know who bring their kids here for a family oriented vacation old man! Travel is about business and currency exchange! Go change ur diapers!
Another old man yelping! It belongs in the travel section because most people travel here for business! How many people do you know who bring their kids here for a family oriented vacation old man! Travel is about business and currency exchange! Go change ur diapers!

calling a person coward is a sure sign of someone who needs a drink! It would be real funny if we ever met in person! he he!
Answer: That is a long a difficult question. Living in China, I have seen the dollar fall vs the us substantially, my standard of living still remains high, but not as high as it was.
The quick answer is "yes" the dollar is king. It is the currency that everyone recognizes and continues to purchase. However, questions are starting to come up and murmurs can be heard about whether or not China should continue dumping their money in the US so that consumers can spend. The more those questions are asked, the less power the dollar will have. Eventually, the Chinese RMB will hopefully be economically stable and can be allowed to float. After that happens and China is a stable country, what currency will you hold your money in?
Question: How come China doesn't dominate the Olympics? I mean they have 1 billion 300 million people, thats a billion more then america. Yet they rarely win gold metals, expecially in important sports like sprinting weightlifting wrestling basketball. Or even the world cup?
If 1/6 people in the world are chinese shouldn't they blow every other country out of the water?!
Also why isn't their any Chinese fighters in Pride or UFC considering they founded martial arts.
Answer: The number of people in a country does not relate to that country's ability to win medals or sports events.
Several small countries dominate distance events in athletics.
The Chinese have been putting a lot of emphasis on some sports and they do win, such as diving.
The communist countries used sports, and the government program of steroid use, to demonstrate that their system of government was better than democratic countries.
Concerted effort to develop athletics will help, but there is no correlation between the size of a country and the success of its athletic programs.
Question: Why is it that Chinese Americans don't have the same cultural pride as the Japanese or Korean Americans? My Japanese American and Korean American friends get really excited when they talk about their mother land Japan and Korea but whenever I ask what the Chinese Americans think of China they always bash it and have that disgusted look on their face like they don't want to be Chinese?
I don't get it?
Answer: There will always be a few people from every race that are not happy with their culture. You know, there's way more chinese people than japanese or korean so you probably met some chinese people that don't like their own race. I know many people that are proud to be chinese and others who would love to be chinese.
Question: Are Americans aware that they are about to be usurped by China as the biggest economic world power.? Do they ever broadcast this sort of thing in your country or is it hushed up\brushed under the carpet because it might damage national pride?
Answer: Most United Staters are aware of this information. They just don't want to admit it.
Question: In retrospect, should we have opened up trade relations with China? I know this is Monday-morning quarterbacking, but ever since Nixon opened the door, American productivity and pride have suffered, the trade deficit has ballooned out of control, and foreign countries and interests now control the greater part of our economy.
Answer: NO!
Why don't we trade with Cuba?
COMMUNIST!
Which has been ironic that it was a Republican president to open trade relations with a communist state as well it has been a Republican that has completely barried our economy to a Communist state.
And Republicans are always calling Democrats Commys and Socialist.
HYPOCRITES
Question: Do you ever feel racist against your own race? I'm Canadian of Chinese ethnicity and I think I'm actually racist against Chinese people O.e;;
I like the ones who were born and raised in Canada, USA, Britain, and Australia, but the actual Chinese ones I really dislike. I think it may be a clash of morals or something but I have zero pride in the country (China) and feel no camaraderie with the ones who immigrated to my city =/
Answer: No I don't.
I can understand how you feel though.
Question: Do you know that China was the first to find America? Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I had chashu pork and turkey from boston market.
Before you read this, let me tell you that I am not a chinese patriot or part of any of those angry youth groups. I do have racial pride but I am not pro-China or a flag waver. I just wanted to point this out since not many westerners know about this.I do know that Norse found America before near 1000 AD which means about 500 or 400 years before Chinese did. If I was a flag waving Chinese I wouldn't admit that but instead I would be saying offensive things like "No no We Chinese were the first to discover America way before you white people did. America belongs to us." I am not that kind of a person.
http://www.1421.tv/
And there are many other sites. You can go to google and type in "China found America".
My question is if China colonized it back then. What do you think the present day America would be like? And also do you think there would be Canada? Or there will be Canada but with more european descendants than Chinese?
Answer: Yes I know. They were also the ones that started the hole egyptien civilization. Its easy to figure out : asians build piramids wherever theyy would go. there were pyramids in Asia, then in egypt and in south america. The sculptures in south america a identicel the ancient asian sculpture of lions etc...
They also found acient chianees boats in the pacific not far from south America.
Too bad this information is denied by most of the present society. i am happy to see that some people share the same point of view.
Question: Should we just buy everything we need from China? Almost everything that any American would ever need is made in China and can be bought very cheap at WalMart or some similar place.
So why complain that American jobs are going overseas?
Even if we all end up working menial service jobs, we could still afford to buy stuff at WalMart.
I bought a set of towels there once for about $2.50! What a deal. I wish I could remember what brand they were because I'd like to get some more (I had the throw them out because they kinda disintegrated in the dryer).
WE do not need to make things in America! That is not what we are about, people.
America is about INTANGIBLE THINGS like pride and independence and that good old we can do it attitude! Everything else we can get from China.
BESIDES, China holds more our national debt than ANYBODY ELSE--in the form of BILLIONS AND BILLIONS ofU.S. government debt securities such as Treasury bonds.
So we need to save some money so we can get out of debt to China. So shop at WalMart!
Answer: Factory jobs: 3 million lost since 2000
Yours might be next.
As For buying your way out of debt...ummmm it Doesn't work. I
Question: Is China a dangerous world power - a second Germany? I think they are because of the following reasons: 1) they are a booming economic country set to pass the US by 2025 and they are increasing military spending by 19% each year despite having no wars or conflicts. 2) They are strong allies with North Korea which we all know is a very unstable and potentially lethal country. 3) they have a lot of resentment towards Japan from WWII which roughly correlates to Germany's attitude after their loss in WWI. 4) They have a communist government printing nationalist propaganda and promoting the pride and power of the Chinese people - sound familiar? and Lastly, all information on China in rest of the world is given by the Chinese government. It is estimated that in actuality the government is spending about 3x the amount reported on military expansion. What do others think, especially Chinese nationals themselves? Please respond with your thoughts.
Answer: YES to all.
China aided No Korea in 1950s Korean War & 1960s No Vietnam.
Theyve been Communist since 1949.
I mean RedStrong loyal vs Russians.
Theyre Human rights are Bad.
Yes it can be a 2nd Germany
BUT NO Genocide Yet.
Link China to Iran & No Korea.
Better set up our Missile Defense System.
Question: for mma fans, have you ever seen art of war fighting championships? it's an mma org from china. very similar to pride fc.
Answer: i've seen the american version of 'art of war', and i've seen maybe 5 fights from the chinese version , but i dont really remember much about them since i only saw them over the internet. the fights weren't that great, and showcased a lot of chinese olympic participants
and yes i know that the u.s. and chinese versions are not run by the company, or have any affiliation
Question: Do Chinese people look at their clothes and when they see the tag 'made in China', feel a sense of national pride and think to themselves, "I know I'm buying quality?".
I'm not joking. We might look at clothes made in our own countries as being the highest quality, but is this the truth or just a perception.
Answer: Chinese people are well aware that most goods made in China are FAR from the highest quality. Chinese people in China who have money, would mostly buy imported clothes from Europe or America.
Chinese people may buy things "made in China" to support their countrymen (and to get the cheapest price), but they don't have any misconceptions that it's high quality.
Question: After China, shouldn't India also be given the Summer Olympics in the near future? ? Just like China, India is also a fast emerging economy. And just like China, India also has a very huge population base to select its athletes from let alone numerous big cities to become venues for the various Olympic events. Hence, shouldn't India also bid to host the Olympics in the very near future?
Some people may say India doesn't have the facilities nor financial capabilities yet. But the way their economy is going up, they'll be capable [like China] in the very near future. Hosting the Olympics then would not only be a "coming-out party" for them (like Beijing '08 was for China) but also, it may very well increase their gold medal winnings just like China. In turn, this will bolster national pride like never before sort of "yes we can" just like the Chinese. It then will show the world that India has arrived.
In turn, this may inspire other big, non-western countries like Brazil, Argentina, Egypt, South Africa, Saudi Arabia (& etc.) to also bid sort of like - "if the Chinese & Indians can, so can we!" This will then make the Olympics truly global just as to how Jacques Rogge originally hoped for during his tenure as IOC president.
Heck, even small but economic powerhouse countries such as Singapore, U.A.E.(Dubai), Taiwan, Switzerland, Brunei, Kuwait should bid. Or even semi-economic powerhouse countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, & etc. should be considered.
Bottom line: give other countries a chance to host to make the Olympics truly global. Those who already hosted more than once ought to give the others a chance especially those who hasn't hosted yet but are bidding.
Overall, all of the aforementioned countries (& others I failed to mention) should bid as the Olympics not only brings glory to a country but also, financial rewards if done properly.
Answer: Some of what you've brought up has merit, but overall I'd say it's not as simple as the Summer Olympics being "given" to them. You've got to bribe the IOC officials in just the right way. Plus have all the rest of the things necessary to host the Games. The venues are chief among them, then there's the athlete's village, the media quarters, the provision of massive security, printing the tickets, etc. I could go on and on.
Realistically the idea of the climate in India as has been mentioned, would be prohibitive to outdoor events being contested at top flight athletic levels. There's the matter of the overall Indian economy too. Visitors might not feel totally welcome in the cities of Jodhpur, New Delhi, Jharkhand and the rest. Being repeatedly approached for handouts isn't most people's idea of a good time.
I'm in total agreement with you though in that the Olympics should be more and more global in terms of the countries that get to host them. I'm not sure that India is ready yet.
Question: Businesses looking to save money on bulk China products? I am currently a college student majoring in International Economics. I have a family friend who used to be employed by Disney in the financial sector and now has his own import company. He has 200 employees/agents working for him Overseas. He prides his company on saving their customers on average between 30 and 70%. He does this with a license that allows him to deal directly with the factories overseas. If you are looking for container loads ($25,000 +) of bulk goods (any products) get back to me at fransoo@ualberta.ca.
Answer: Hi. What you have described sounds ok, but I have not run into the need for licensing to buy overseas. I guess they may be required in other areas than I'm aware of. But in tools, machinery, automotive, plastics, and a few others, I have Chinese companies in particular clamoring for customers in the U.S. They hunt down my website and find me and email me with very carefully designed and elaborate emails with introcustions of their products. I have not bought anything recently and not from any email source, but we used to purchase rebuilt forklifts by container from Japan. The market was good on them in the beginning. We used to be able to make $2000 profit apiece on them, when they first came out. Later, after everybody knew about them, you could see them sitting in people's front yards of their homes! I always look at the market cycle as to when this product first became available. It makes a big difference. BTY, be careful the way you post this kind of question. Check solicitations in the community guidelines. Just a word to the wise, if it makes any difference to you. I'll tell you a good place to post this message, in my Yahoo Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LosAngelesBusiness/ . Anyway, good luck. I majored in finance, then studied accounting and computers later.
