Answer: As long as they don't claim it's Ephedra (or a replacement for it) or don't claim that it'll give the same benefits as Ephedra, it's perfectly legal. The same thing applies to Red Yeast Rice that has naturally occuring Statins in it... you don't need a prescription for it like you would need for a Statin drug. Supplements can be sold on the market if they have an active ingredient that can be used as a drug as long as they don't claim that it would be a replacement for the drug or list the quantity of that drug in it. Not that I'm knocking it, but I drink plenty of water as well as natural green tea with no dilutions or added sugars, etc. I also take Hoodia Gordonii 500, it's like just over $13 bucks at Wal-Mart for 60 pills and it works (atleast for me). I also do warmups and I alternate walking/jogging. I started out 10 min warm ups and then 20 mins walks. Then I increased to 15 min warm ups and 30 mins of walking. Eventually increase your excercise week by week, rather than day by day and drink plenty of water. I'm actually not a big fanatic of water, so I use lemon or lime for flavoring (w/o sugar). Answer: yes, it applies..if she has high antibodies it is hashimotos which is a form of hypothyroidism. When you say nothing major in her tsh results what does that mean? a lot of people suffer from subclinical hypo even with so-called normal tsh's and must be treated to feel well.
