Box Holly
Question: Does anyone know where I can buy the 6 album buddy holly box set? It was released back in the 70s and includes pretty much everything he ever recorded. Any ideas as to where I can get a hold of a copy and how much? I've tried e-bay and other auction type web sites but to no avail. Thanks
Answer: I think it was released on Columbia Records, so you may want to check their website to see if it was ever reissued. Your only other option is to try talking to someone at your local vintage bookstore. Virgin Mega carries some major box sets, so that may be another idea.
Question: Does it frighten anyone else that holly roller is heartbeat from black box ?
Answer: Scares me sane, I almost voted for McCain, till he began to kiss Evangelical butt, this sews it up for me, not all older people are mentally impaired, but his choice shows me he might be. And her platform shows me this might not be age connected at all.
Question: How can I tell if I have a male or female Japnese Steeds Holly? I just bought five Japneses steeds holly to hide an electric box on my property. Also, I have two new dragon lady hollys I just planted two weeks ago. I bought all seven from the same nursury. My question is, how can I tell which Hollys are males and which ones are females? Do garden centers only sell one gender? My Dragon Ladys are thirty feet away, will they both grow berries in the fall? Thanks for any insight!
Answer: Hollies are dioecious, meaning that they produce either male or female flowers on separate plants. Only female plants produce colorful berries but male plants need to be present for berries to form abundantly, usually about one male to every five females. To determine sex: The female Japanese holly produces inconspicuous, black or sometimes white fruit.
You will need a pollinator for your Dragon Lady:
Ilex x meserveae 'Meschick' (Dragon Lady Holly) - Zone 6b-9a, 15-20’ x 4-6’ Zones 6b - 9a. Female evergreen. Dense, shiny dark green, spiny-margined leaves. Many persistent, large, bright red fruit in fall. Pyramidal to columnar. Moist, well-drained, acid soils; full sun for more berries. Pollinator: ‘Blue Stallion’. $3.90 each.

Question: does holly wood video check if the game is in the box? whyd i ask that cause i rented metal gear solid 3 and alvin and the chipmunks was their so do they check if its in there
Answer: It might depend on who is there
someone who doesnt care about their job,
someone who was friends with the last renter and let him keep the game,
Or maybe the person at the desk just shook the case to see if it was in there.
Question: In Breakfast at Tiffany's, what do Holly and Paul have engraved on the ring from the Cracker Jack box? I don't believe they answer the man at Tiffany's when he asks, and I was wondering if it's ever shown in the film or if it's a little-known trivial fact.
Answer: There is a post-engraving close-up of the ring at one point in the film, and it is possible that seeing the film in a theatre, the audience might be able to read it -- I don't know because I've never seen BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S on the big screen. But from a home video standpoint, the movie never explicitly reveals what Tiffany's engraved on the ring.

Question: Is there a way to tell when my Holly Hobbie China Tea Set was made? It was made by Chilton Toys, a subsidiary of Kraft, Inc and it was made in Taiwan. It also has American Greeting Corp on the box.
Answer: I would take it to an antique shop local to you to have it appraised, etc. However, by my best guess (based on items listed on the web, and at these pages) I would guess 1970, or perhaps 1977.

Question: Is any species of Juniper native to the UK? I always thought that the only evergreen trees native to the UK were the Scots Pine, the Holly, Box and Yew. Someone recently told me that the juniper was as well. I would like to check this out.
Perhaps there is a native Juniper, but it is only a bush. (You might say the same about Box, but I have seen 500 year old Box trees that are quite definitely trees.)
Answer: Juniperis Communis is the one that is native to the UK and is mainly found in Scotland, Wales, Yorkshire, Cumbria and Sussex.

Question: When should I plant out bushes? I have some gaps in my hedge and want to plant some additional bushes to cover them. The hedge is mostly box, with some holly and beech. Any ideas of what I should use to fill the gaps, and when should I plant out?
Thanks
Answer: You're best sticking to the types you've already grown - have you got variegated hollies, you can get some very pretty ones? It sounds like a good mix and if you can find some nice thick bushes to plant they'll blend in quickly. If you want another type of plant consider eschalonia which has pretty pink flowers but is still evergreen - small leaves, like box, but faster growing. I suppose you've got to be careful choosing other types of bush as you want to be able to clip them all at the same time, so check carefully for growth rates - hazel and forsythia make good hedges but are not the neat plants you might need.
Plant now! Go on!
If you plant now the roots will get established before it gets too cold and wet. It may be warm still but it shouldn't be so warm that the bushes make new top growth so now's good!
Don't plant if the ground is cold and waterlogged - the roots will rot. If you can't plant now, wait until February or March and hope it isn't too wet.
Happy hedge!

Question: can someone with really dark brown hair, almost black hair, dye their hair platinum blonde from a box and...? not have it turn orange and break off and be completely damaged? i want it to come out good, like holly from the girls next door blonde, not orange and nasty and all damaged... thanks
Answer: Yeah you can.. ignore all these people that are saying don't. seriously.. my hair was darkest brown a week ago, now its blonde.. and i've done this all by myself. but my hair is extremely thick and strong. i've dyed it 3 times today, 3 times yesterday and twice on saturday, and it's still pretty good condition. it's pretty easy so get your hair to a blonde shade using home dye's but to get it platinum blonde you'll need patience, and lots of it. i would concentrate on getting your hair to an 'ash blonde' shade first of all then work your way up to platinum blonde slowly. you will need to use LOADS of dyes, but it'll deffinately cost less than a few visits to the salon. Good luck :)!
Question: Could someone please help me with this Christmas puzzle? I figured out the answers to the puzzle are U,I,A,T,T,A,N,C,H,E.
Now I have to unscramble the letters and find the word or words that is/are "found on every Holly Jolly ornament box".
I have to use all of the letters.
Please help me!
This is part of my holiday homework and I have been trying forever to find the answer.
Thanks in advance!
Answer: Are you sure you have all of the correct letters? You might want to double check. The only word I see that it might be is 'Authentic'. If that's the answer though, then you have one too many A's.
P.S. If I were the teacher, I would totally make the phrase come out to say "I teach a nut" ;) haha. Not seen on many ornament boxes though.
Question: Where can I find the Christmas ice cream snowballs rolled in coconut? I believe there were four or six snowballs per box. They were made out of vanilla ice cream, then rolled in coconut and decorated with a sprig of holly on the top. Doilies and candles were provided in the box, as well. They were in local grocery stores every winter, but I haven't seen them the past two years.
Answer: Coconut Snowball Cocoa Ice Cream Recipe
1 pt Vanilla ice cream
1 c Cream of coconut
1 c Coconut, flaked
1 ts Coconut extract
1/2 c Unsweetened cocoa
1/2 c Chocolate ice cream sauce
1 qt Milk
8 Maraschino cherries
1/2 c Dark rum (optional)
Scoop ice cream into 8 small balls, immediately roll in coconut. Place on waxed paper-lined baking sheets; freeze until ready to use. Whisk cocoa into milk in a large saucepan. stir in rum, if desired, cream of coconut and coconut extract. Bring to simmer over medium-high heat. Pour into 8 large heatproof mugs. Float ice cream balls in cocoa. If desired, drizzle ice cream ball with chocolate sauce and top with a cherry. Makes 8.

Question: How to light a gas heater? I just moved into an apartment with this old gas heater that is so difficult to start. There are no instructions besides "turn all valves to off position. Wait for 5 min. Apply lighted match to pilot at the bottom of firebox. If equipped with manual reset safety valve, turn knob to pilot position and depress button or turn knob hard left aginst the stop until pilot remains lighted when released".
I turned the knob into pilot position, and while keeping it pressed, put the match to all sorts of places near the pilot- nothing happened. Actually I didn't see any holes through which the light from the match could start the ignition.
Did anyone have experience with one of those? The model is "Holly Del Mar". There is this large rectangular heating section on the wall, the pilot box is at the bottom.
Answer: Do you know if the heater worked before you moved in?? Maybe it's been broke for a while. If it did work and it looks to be in decent shape, then it's possible you aren't getting the match near the right place. It's also possible that there may be another valve in the line, (actually there is supposed to be another valve), besides the saftety valve on the unit, that shuts off the gas to the thing completely. That may be closed. If it is, no amount of fooling around with the saftety valve is going to get it to light. If you can find such a valve, it will usually have a red handle, or knob, that will be turned to a 90 degree angle, (crossways), to the pipe it's installed in. If it is in that position, then it's off, turn it so it's in line with the pipe and then try to light the pilot. If you've held down the pilot button for at least a minute and don't smell some gas down by the pilot area, then the gas is most likely turned off, or the saftety valve is no good.
Question: At what age does a cat first go into heat? A week before Christmas we found a taped box lying next to the side of the road. It contained a female kitten that the vet said was about 9/10 weeks of age. We decided to keep her and Holly has become a wonderful addition to our family. She has not gone into heat yet and I am wondering if this is normal and at what age does the first one usually occur?
Answer: These heat cycles may start as early as the fourth or fifth month of a kitten's life, and will continue until she is either bred or spayed. Heat cycles in cats last from several days to two weeks or longer, and repeat every two to three weeks. You can see then, how a female cat may almost always seem to be in heat.
Question: What do you think about Survivor supply live chicken AGAIN? So on Survivor:Nicaragua, the rewards were live chickens. This is also not the only time Survivor supply live chickens. Do you think they should have supplied fresh chicken instead or frozen chicken with an ice-box so the participants can cooked it with the fire. The way they killed the chicken really concerns me which is in my opinion inhumane. Should survivor offer equipments or at least cooked food instead.
Also, what do you think about Tyrone being eliminated and he said that Holly had "issues" with black people according to an interview
Answer: i hate it when they kill the chickens or other animals on this show. i can never watch that part. i close my eyes and cover my ears. i know the show is called survivor and you would do whatever you had to to survive, but you are right, why can't they just give them a cooked chicken dinner or something like that?! i was hoping that they would just let the chickens provide eggs for them.
Question: Saving Grace w/Holly Hunter, Last Episode 12/18/07? I am soooo ticked off at my Tivo box right now!!! I really like the show Saving Grace with Holly Hunter, and was VERY much looking forward to this last episode, and had set it to record on Tivo...but I also watch Boston Legal and that was set to be recorded directly following Saving Grace for the finale (extra episode on a Tuesday), so...it cut off the last two minutes of Saving Grace!!!! She had just put the gun in the priest's mouth when it stopped recording!!! Can anyone tell me what happened? I am sure eventually it will be aired again, but so far, doesn't appear on any schedules! I want to know...did she shoot him, or WHAT??!! Thanks!!
OK Hockey Gal 9...automatic 10 pts if you can tell me what she said and what he said??!! I saw as far as him saying "I'm just fedex delivering a message" (what Earl had said earlier), but then the recording stopped!!
Answer: She didn't shoot him; that was the big cliffhanger. We don't know if she's going to shoot him or not. I can't wait to find out what happens, either!
Question: Biting, missing litter box,? Six years ago November, after trying to locate its owner we took in a stray cat that had been loitering around our home for about 6 months. We had it checked out by our vet who determined he was a neutered male about 8-9 yrs. old.
He is now 14-15 years old. He has been missing his litter box lately. He urinates partly inside the box and partly on the floor next to it. I have had him checked out by our vet. Other than some weight loss, his health is good. My vet advised trying canned food to help Holly gain some weight. I’ve tried several different cat foods. Sometimes he likes them and other times he doesn't. Some days he doesn't eat much.
I've been working on a solution to solve the litter box problem. I have gotten a larger litter box and clean it almost as often as he uses it. Because half of the urine doesn't make it into the box it means cleaning the box and the trays I have under it daily and letting them dry in the sun. His urine and bowel movements seem to have a greater odor than in the past. I have tried several litter boxes but he seems to prefer one and just the closet edge. I've also sprayed the pheromone Felway in areas because I heard it calms the cat down and relives stress.
Last night while my husband was brushing him, he viciously bit him three times in rapid succession. He broke the skin in several places. I am very careful when I brush him because I had cancer and have had 5 lymph nodes removed which makes me more vulnerable if he should bite me.
I have an additional dilemma. We live in Wisconsin and my husband and I are moving to Arizona to be with our son and his family in several months. I do not know if Holly will able to handle the long trip by car and adjust to our new home. I am uncertain as to what to do with Holly at this time.
He is a very sweet cat usually, but we are a senior couple and need some advice on how to solve these new dilemmas.
Answer: Don't spray Feliway near the litter box - it's only supposed to be sprayed in places where the cat is not supposed to pee or poop. I don't know about partially missing the box, except maybe it's in an awkward position or maybe you might try rotating it a quarter turn or trying a different place.
Dont' change foods abruptly - cats can't handle it. If you want to switch foods you have to gradually taper off the old one and on to the new one.
The biting when brushing may have been that something caused pain - either brushing to hard, catching a matted piece of fur, or maybe there is a skin lesion of some kind.
You're right that cats usually get stressed from changing locations but if you can't find someone else caring to take him then you don't have much choice.
p.s. Holly is a weird name for a boy, lol
